BIOGRAPHY

Korrey is a brass musician in Central Illinois, frequently seen performing on tuba, trombone, and trumpet. A staple in the commercial music scene, Korrey plays trumpet with 90's Daughter as a member of The Brass Junkies horn section, NOLA sousaphone with 6th Street Brass, and trombone/vocals with his own project, Boneyard Brass Band. He can also be found playing trombone on the single "Her and I" by The Inn Keepers.

While much time is spent commercially, Korrey is also a classically trained tubist, studying Tuba Performance at the University of Illinois under the tutelage of Mark Moore. While at UIUC, Korrey has held the Principle Tuba position with the U of I Wind Symphony, and has appeared with the U of I Symphony Orchestra, as well as the Danville Symphony.

While at U of I, Korrey also studied jazz trumpet with Dr. Barkey Bryant, holding the lead trumpet position in multiple jazz ensembles. He has also performed with the Concert Jazz Band on bass trombone in a sub capacity.

Korrey spent the summer of 2015 playing tuba and sousaphone with the Disneyland All-American College Band, a group of 21 hand selected musicians from across the country. While living in Los Angeles, Korrey was able to perform with Wayne Bergeron, Sal Lozano, Jiggs Whigham, Ron Carter, Steve Haughton, Gregg Field, John Clayton, Rex Richardson, and many others. He also had the privilege to study with studio tubist Doug Tornquist.
